As I was writing it, my son started his first relationship.

At night before bed he always confides in me his dreams and fears.

"What if she breaks up with me?" he asked.

For the first time, he had something precious to lose.

Young love rarely gets a fair chance.

Outside factors interfere.

After all, he’s only nine.

But that's the beauty when it ends - it never fully blossomed, so the nostalgic question of "what if?" remains.

With this song, I loved the idea of capturing the snapshot that occurs decades later when teenage sweethearts reunite.

The electricity of first love rekindled after so many years.

That never forgotten feeling of your first love.

artist statement

I never expected to write more songs after my first album in 2010, but life has a way of surprising us and reigniting our passions when we least expect it.

Society often glorifies the art and inventions of the young, but some of humanity's most profound contributions have come from seasoned creators who have lived, loved, and lost.

After a 12-year hiatus from songwriting, I no longer identified as a musician, focusing instead on my other artistic pursuits. But I realize now that I simply didn't have anything to say in song during that time.

Then, in a cruel twist of fate, everything changed.

My amazing Dad, my mentor, guide and best friend whom I saw every day, was taken from us by a relentless beast… Pancreatic Cancer.

I didn't even have to try to write. In the depths of my grief, words and melodies flowed effortlesslyI realized that the hiatus was merely a blip in my lifelong journey of self-expression.

Turning 40 while grieving the loss of one of the most important people in my life has led me to reflect on how I want to experience fulfillment. Our inner light remains constant as we age, even if our energy levels change. We just need to have the courage to let it shine.

In 2023, I released an album paralleling the Five Stages of Grief®. With no loss of momentum, six new songs are lined up for release in 2024, exploring the themes of life and love.

As an artist, my perspective has shifted significantly in recent years. I've come to understand that I can create music on my own terms while running a company in the top 2% of female founders and leading a fulfilling family life.

This medium of expression adds richness, depth, and beauty to my existence, just as my work creating custom diamond rings does. When I craft a unique diamond ring, I have the privilege of witnessing the creation of an exceptionally meaningful symbol representing the love between two people.

In a way, my songs are like my one-of-a-kind custom rings – each one uniquely crafted from my heart, imbued with a story.

Through loss, love, and the passage of time, I’m embracing the power of creativity and recognizing the importance of artistic expression in all its forms.
